Dr. Ali Zarrouk is a highly experienced bariatric surgeon, dedicated to helping patients achieve their weight loss and health goals.
He began his medical career in 1994 after completing his medical degree in Baghdad, Iraq. In 1997, he commenced his surgical training in New Zealand, and in 2007, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr. Zarrouk subspecialised in bariatric and upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery after undertaking two years of post-fellowship training in Sydney. During this period, he developed advanced expertise in sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revisional bariatric procedures. Since 2011, Dr. Zarrouk has performed over 3,500 bariatric operations, establishing himself as one of the most experienced surgeons in this field.
In addition to bariatrics, Dr. Zarrouk’s surgical expertise extends to anti-reflux and hiatus hernia surgery, as well as laparoscopic hernia and gallbladder procedures. He is also certified by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy, allowing him to provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
